Painting of the Week

Once Upon a Time (study)

For some time now, I have been anxious to try my hand at a large painting but find myself a tad nervous when faced with 24 by 48 inches of blank canvas. To ease into a large size I thought I’d do this smaller study of my subject matter first.

I’m very happy with this composition, but plan to make a few small adjustments when I go up in size. Perhaps an extra shot of colour would add variety and keep the eye entertained over that extra 18 inches.
